Director Interviews

Director Selection for 2012-2013

Directors selection for our exciting 2012-2013 season will be done through Board interviews on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20. Anyone interested is encouraged to set-up an interview. Applicants will be asked to present their vision of the play (casting, sets, costumes) and to answer questions.
If you would like an interview time please email John Lunman. John can also provide you with scripts of the show you might be interested in. We will accept applications from individuals who wish to be the Musical Director of Cabaret separate from the director but we are also interested in hearing from you if you come as a team.

39 STEPS
Adapted by Patrick Barlow from the original Alfred Hitchcock film

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have "The 39 Steps", a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This two-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a cast of four), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! In "The 39 Steps", a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called The 39 Steps is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale!  It has been Broadway’s longest running comedy.

You can search for the play on Google or YouTube and find plenty of clips from productions to give you a feel for the play and its staging which will require an inventive talented director to take on — not for the faint of heart!
